# Reminders About Upcoming Individual Lessons

Do your participants sometimes forget about their individual lessons? You can send them automatic reminders before each class.

ActiveNow supports two types of individual lesson reminders:

* **Push notification in the mobile app** — the participant receives a notification that takes them directly to *Upcoming classes*.
* **SMS reminder**.

## How reminders work

* The reminder is sent **one hour** before the lesson starts.
* Each participant receives **one** reminder per individual lesson.
* If you choose SMS reminders, participants receive a message with the text: **"Kind reminder about your class tomorrow – (lessons venue and time)"** — class details are pulled automatically from the system.

## How to enable reminders

1. Go to *Settings* → *Communication*.
2. In the *Information for clients* section, expand *Classes timetable* and find *Reminder about individual lessons*.
3. Select the reminder types you want to enable:
   * *App notification* and/or
   * *SMS information*

Reminders will start working automatically for all active individual lessons.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.activenow.io/en/communication/individual-lesson-reminders.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
