# Registering as an Instructor

Does the school you work for use ActiveNow? Great news — you can say goodbye to paper attendance lists and manage everything from one tidy panel.

## Registration

The school invites each instructor to the system by email. The welcome email contains a **Register!** button — click it to be taken to ActiveNow, where you will log in and set your **new password**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Your password must be at least 8 characters long.
{% endhint %}

## Panel tabs

Once you are in the system, your **calendar** shows your upcoming lessons. You will also find the following tabs in the left-side menu:

* **MY CALENDAR** — your lesson schedule
* **ALL MY CLASSES** — a list of all your lessons with their details
* **PARTICIPANTS** — a list of all your students
* **SUBSTITUTIONS** — lessons where you covered for another instructor, or where someone covered for you
* **MY PERSONAL DETAILS** — your account information

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.activenow.io/en/instructor-panel/registering-as-an-instructor.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
